Mr. Kasselakis referred to the dilemma of the European elections stressing that “we need to claim a better Europe with less austerity
“We need to have a better life now, as our slogan says, and not stability at the bottom, which is the slogan of New Democracy. If we want to claim from Europe what we want for Greece, just listen to Europe. Listen to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office investigating the waste of 2.5 billion in digital assignments, condemned by the rule of law in Greece. Listen to Europe which says that it cannot do its research on Tempi, but also that it now controls OPEKEPE”. The above was stated by the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis from Larissa during his tour of the Thessalian city.
Mr. Kasselakis referred to the dilemma of the European elections, stressing that “we need to claim a better Europe with less austerity, for a solution to immigration that will bring Europe to the responsibility it deserves and not Greece becoming a warehouse of souls”. At the same time, he referred to the attitude of the E.U. on the issue of Gaza, saying that “we deserve a Europe that will not silently watch the bloodshed in Palestine, but take a clear stand to put an end to this unacceptable bloodshed and this massacre”.
In this direction, the president of SYRIZA PS said that on June 9 the people must send a resounding message “and reward us for the work we have done, forming a ballot from the grassroots”.
Referring to the people’s concerns and the meetings with the citizens, Mr. Kasselakis said that the biggest problems, especially of young people, are the salary benefits from their work, noting that “we cannot be a country where a person works so hard and to be hungry”.
At the same time, he said that his promise is that “this social opposition will at some point become a social government, noting that “the days when a prime minister closes himself in the four walls of Maximos and cannot listen to the problems of the world, will end”.
Among other things, he emphasized that his party deserves a second chance in the European elections, while he said that SYRIZA-PS “wants a society that has people at the center, with open but regulated markets, with a welfare state, with robust defense, human rights , but also a foreign policy that goes along with the ideas of the Enlightenment at the end of the day”.
Among other things, Mr. Kasselakis referred to the issue of the disasters in the area of Thessaly from the floods, but also to the meeting he had with the governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas. He referred to the issue of anti-flood works, while wondering “where did all this money go for the projects that were not done?” At the same time, he referred to the organization of the Thessaly region for Civil Protection, stressing that “in a short time the Region of Thessaly will be a model for all regions, for how to set up a Civil Protection mechanism”. He also emphasized that there are long delays from the central government in the compensations, while he noted that he will continue in the parliament and in society to perform the role of the opposition.
It is noted that the president of SYRIZA-PS toured the city center for a long time accompanied by Larissa MP Vassilis Kokkalis, local SYRIZA officials and members of the youth, where he spoke with the citizens of Larissa, listening to their concerns and concerns for their daily life.
