The president of PASOK continues his tour in Thessaly, with a visit to Karditsa
After yesterday’s gathering at Larissa with the candidate of the Socialists, Nicolas Schmid, the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakiscontinued from the morning on tour of at Thessaly with a visit to Carditsaan area badly affected by the Daniel disaster.
“In Thessaly, the incompetence of the staff state of the New Republic was amply demonstrated. They failed neither to strengthen prevention, nor to proceed quickly with rehabilitation, as a result of which the affected areas are still living in very difficult situations” Mr. Androulakis emphasized in his statements.
He underlined that PASOK-Movement of Change proposed from the first moment to become a task force and organize the restoration of the Region in cooperation with the self-government, the central state and the chambers. “A central planning with consultation. None of this has happened. The government’s response? A single authority for water management, which could be something very correct, if the priority was local self-government and not the privatization of water, for which we absolutely disagree,” added Mr. Androulakis.
The president of PASOK-Change Movement made a special reference to the problems of the agricultural world.
“Farmers and producers are seeing production costs skyrocket. Fertilizers, animal feed, energy. For us, the priority is the terms of connection to cooperatives and producers so that they have the possibility, through renewable sources, to have stable energy costs in the coming years. And as much energy as they do not consume, sell it back to the grid, in order to have a financial benefit and balance the increase in the remaining production factors and costs.
In addition, we insist on the interconnection of the primary sector, manufacturing, cooperatives with tourism, to have extroversion. Millions of travelers come to Greece every year, but unfortunately they don’t taste the Greek products. As a result, we have 10 billion food imports, even tomatoes from Poland” he noted.
“We have another vision and another plan for a sustainable development, against the model of the current New Democracy government. That’s why I ask the citizens, both here in Karditsa and throughout Thessaly, to support the democratic faction and to disapprove of the arrogance of the current government, which unfortunately despises the major problems of the productive world of the country” concluded Mr. Androulakis.
