“At the moment we have a retirement age of 67 with 15 years of work, 62 with 40 years of work. We are not discussing changing this limit at all,” said the Minister of Labor
There is no discussion of increasing the retirement limits clarified the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Domna Michailidou, speaking to ERT stating “absolutely perpendicular to it”.
He noted that “at the moment we have a retirement age of 67 with 15 years of work, 62 with 40 years of work. We are not discussing this limit to change at all. Not at all, it’s not on the agenda.”
With reference to the DYPA and EFKA camp programs, the competent minister emphasized that a total of 106,000 children aged 6 to 16 will have the opportunity to take up to one month of vacation.
The platform will close on Thursday, May 30 underlining that parents “don’t have to pay anything more than the voucher the state gives them.”
Mrs. Michailidou called the transfers “an answer to the lack of workers”, pointing out that this year more than 160,000 transfers have been approved.
Finally, he noted that bilateral agreements have already been signed with Egypt, Bangladesh and other countries and added that “recalls cannot solve the whole problem, we need to mobilize and motivate a younger population, so that we can attract and younger people in tourism and people whom until now we are not traditionally used to working in this industry”.
