“It is a blot of shame on the history of democratic Europe,” claimed Edi Rama
Eddy Rama challenges. According to himara.gr, the Albanian prime minister directly accused Greece, during the gathering with Albanian immigrants he held this time in Milan, of imposing on the Albanians in Greece to change their name as a condition of obtaining papers.
In his speech, the Albanian Prime Minister said, among other things:
“Brothers, I received many messages from Albanians in Italy after the red and black dance in the heart of Greece. On more than one occasion, I was told when I came to Milan, I must not forget that you also suffered.
It almost seemed as if you felt excluded from a race of historical pains, almost jealous that the terrible suffering of the Albanians of Greece makes the painful history of the Albanians in Europe and their acceptance more heroic…
You Albanians of Italy did not change your names, compulsorily and widely as happened tragically to hundreds and thousands of our brothers and sisters in Greece, for a single and valid reason, which we all know very well.
It is a disgrace in the history of democratic Europe».
