“The applications for its granting have been completed maternity allowance and the payments to eligible mothers, who are insured and who gave birth or adopted from 9/24/2023 onwards, will begin in the next few days”, noted the government representative, Pavlos Marinakiswhen informing the political editors.

“The payments will concern both the corresponding monthly amount and the retrospective ones, while from next month the monthly installments will continue to be paid. In any case, we emphasize that those who are entitled to the allowance will not lose money”, Mr. Marinakis pointed out, adding that “for the first time, the beneficiaries of the allowance include freelancers, self-employed and farm mothers who will receive an allowance equal to the minimum wage , i.e. 830 euros, for 9 months”.

Afterwards, he referred to the launch of the new Entrepreneurship Fund, within the framework of which loans amounting to 2.2 billion euros will be made available to small and medium enterprises on particularly favorable terms, expanding the circle of financed small and medium enterprises and their lending perimeter.

“It is the first time that the combination of the loan guarantee with the interest rate subsidy has been provided, while the reduction in the financing costs of small and medium enterprises can reach up to 70% in the case of the Loan Fund”, as he characteristically stated.

For the postal vote, he pointed out that over 110,000 have already been received from the sorting center in Peristeri, with the deadline for sending the ballot via collection for residents of the territory to be Monday 3 June and Tuesday 4 June if they choose to deliver the envelope in a store of courier companies.

“Tomorrow opens the online platform where beneficiaries can submit their applications for the child benefit. The entitled amount will be calculated on the basis of the dependent children declared in the application for the year 2024 and the total family income that the beneficiaries had in the tax year 2022”, concluded the government representative, closing his introductory statement.

“Access to the site of the Tempe accident is only possible with the permission of the Prosecutor”

In response to a question about the reports about “a secret meeting at the Maximos Palace with the aim of Tempo“, Pavlos Marinakis commented that “coincidentally, these fake news come to light just a few days before the European elections”, while he made it clear that from the first moment the site of the accident was guarded by the Police and only with the public prosecutor’s permission could anyone have access.

“All this is known, in fact, in the first three days after the tragedy, it is also proven by relevant press releases of the Fire Department”, as he said, while when asked about possible communication with Maria Karystianou, Mr. Marinakis underlined that the government’s job “is not to give answers for cases investigated by the Justice”.

“We are obliged to let the whole truth emerge from the Justice. She and she alone will judge who is innocent and who is guilty. We hope those who are really responsible will be held accountable.”

Responding also to the SYRIZA president’s affiliations, he pointed out that “we do not want to have a pre-election confrontation with affiliations and assets, but with economic programs”.
