The decoding of the messages sent by the citizens with their vote in the European elections will – as everything shows – bring changes, which the prime minister is examining and the equation now also includes a strong possibility of reformation.
The message was received and it seems that there will be immediate initiatives on the part of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with the aim of reversing the climate that created the result of yesterday’s European elections, which top executives described as a Pyrrhic victory with messages to the government.
The decoding of the messages will – as everything shows – bring changes, which the prime minister is considering and the possibility of reformation is now also included in the equation.
The current developments forced the Prime Minister to cancel Mr. Mitsotakis’ planned trip to Jordan for tomorrow, and his schedule included an interview with Alpha on Tuesday evening, during which he is expected to talk about the election result and the next initiatives that will take on.
The meeting of the cabinet, on Friday morning, was also included in the program, and it is possible that on that day announcements will be made about changes in the cabinet. Changes possibly deemed necessary after the loss of more than 900,000 votes in yesterday’s election in relation to the 2023 election, as well as the rise of parties to the right of the ND.
Although no one can discount the next moves of Mr. Mitsotakis, it is believed that the immediate reaction to the developments will once again give the prime minister the initiative of the moves.
This afternoon, Mr. Mitsotakis is expected to participate in a teleconference of the EPP summit, where the first debate will take place within the European center-right on the election results, in view of the informal summit on June 17 and the meeting of the European Council at the end of month where decisions will be sought on the positions of the heads of the new EU institutions.
