The SYRIZA press representative commented on the electoral result of the European elections for SYRIZA, Voula Kehagia speaking on Wednesday morning to SKAI and the “Today” show.

“The result is neither for laughing nor for crying” said Mrs. Kehagia, pointing out that she partially vindicates the party. “We kept the second place, despite the fact that some were betting that we would be the third party and we succeeded from the position of the official opposition to reduce the electoral power of the ND” he pointed out.

He emphasized at the same time that the party raised the issue of accuracy, filing two motions for accuracy and tax. “We consider that we highlighted the issue that Mr. Mitsotakis was putting under the carpet” said Mrs. Kehagia.

At the same time, he admitted that SYRIZA could record an even greater result in the elections “but the percentage does not discourage us”, he reported. “Since we were in the single digits last February, we’ve been on an upswing and we believe that this upswing will continue from now on.

For the Kasselaki Foundation

Asked about the anti-extremist foundation that he announced he would establish Stefanos Kasselakis announcing his decision on this day of presentation of the logo of the Tsipras Foundation, Mrs. Kehagia replied:

“It’s not a decision made yesterday. The decision has been under development for the last few months and the foundation will have progressive politics in Europe as its agenda.”

At the same time, Mrs. Kehagia mentioned that Mr. Kasselakis will attend Mr. Tsipras’ conference.

For the defectors

Regarding the defectors of SYRIZA, Mrs. Kehagia said that the party is asking for their seats back and made it clear that it does not want any alliance with them.
