A message to the progressive forces about the future of the center-left was sent from the floor of the Parliament by Nikos Pappas, again throwing bridges to Harilaou Trikoupi.

His parliamentary representative SYRIZA, addressing the majority, emphasized that “the people sent an overwhelming message” in Sunday’s Euro-election, adding that the government “is afraid of the gathering of progressive forces”. However, he warned that the governing majority will soon receive an answer, as “the political developments will be dense” with him stressing: “Look at what happened in France. Fear the rallying of progressive forces. The answer to the continuation of this policy. You will live the French nightmare. What do we have to say? Let’s go to ours too.”

In fact, this statement came just a few hours after Stefanos Kasselakis’ double flirtation with PASOK, with the president of SYRIZA extending a hand of parliamentary cooperation to Harilaou Trikoupis.

However, at the time when he was finishing his presentation, the chairperson of the meeting, Olga Gerovasili, took the floor, addressing the SYRIZA MP, asking “if the intense dialogue between the two factions has started”.

The next speaker picked up the thread from where Ms. Gerovasili left it, with Christos Giannoulis answering her: “The dialogue will begin Ms. president and will be both creative and effective”.
