The threshold of the ministries they assumed, after Friday reshuffle, new and old ministers and deputy ministers of the government will pass through this morning, taking on their duties without delay and putting in place what is required, in order to promote those policies that make the lives of citizens, i.e. everyday life, easier. “Accuracy, health, education are our priorities.” “What we need is a fighting staff to have a visible purpose and results,” the prime minister told the first cabinet of the new government, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

Under these conditions and directions, from today and since the ministers and deputy ministers are informed about their portfolios and their priorities already from their swearing in, today they are rolling up their sleeves and falling over the difficult and intractable issues, with the aim of solutions and the improvements.

The message that all the members of the new government were asked to broadcast, without exception, is a message of a “total restart” leaving behind what hurt the citizens and the faction, as a result of last Sunday’s election result.

“We must not forget that many fellow citizens sent us a message asking for more work, fewer mistakes and fewer delays,” the prime minister emphasized during the first cabinet meeting, leaving no room for repeating the same mistakes and behaviors.

The plan of the Maxim Palace that the ministries are asked to implement is the “acceleration” and not the “brake” and new and old members of the government are asked to prove in practice, with work and not with words, the interventions and policies they will draw up for the convenience of society, which demands results.

These messages will continue to be broadcast for as long as necessary, in order to “get the water in the groove” of efficiency and for citizens to measure actions, commented a government source, referring to the post-European elections era. The three years of clean governance that the ND has in front of it until the national elections of 2027, is enough time to unfold everything that the ND has in its program and above all the major changes it seeks in order to unhook Greece from the shackles of the past. “We need a combat staff, to have visible work and results in a specific time,” the prime minister told the new members of the cabinet, while noting that he will be strict with regard to the hard work and teamwork of the government, “as well as the citizens who they judge us” as he characteristically pointed out.

In any case, his goal Megaros Maximos is the practical reversal of the negative climate, which was formed in the European elections and was reflected in the recent European election ballot, with the 2027 elections as a new horizon, but also in view of political milestones that are ahead and need careful and delicate handling, such as the election of the President of Republic in early 2025 and the constitutional revision, which cannot be ruled out also starting during the same period.

Within the week anyway and after his return from Brussels tonight, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as he has already announced, he will start one cycle of visits to the ministries with the main objective of determining the priorities of the new government. However, speaking to the journalists, after the reshuffle, the prime minister mentioned that the first ministry he will visit will be the Ministry of the Interior, in which he also served as a minister. “I will go to my old office,” he told reporters, while he is expected to make similar visits to all key ministries, whose policies have a direct impact on the daily lives of citizens, and he expects vigilance and efficiency.
