In an interview with realfm, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke about the granting of aid to pensioners at the end of the year, who due to a personal dispute did not receive an increase.
The aid will come from the extraordinary 33% levy on the surplus profits of the refineries, as announced earlier today by the Ministry of Finance.
A first estimate, as Mr. Mitsotakis said, is that the revenue from the extraordinary levy will be close to 300 million euros.

For her permanent reduction of VAT on taxisMr Mitsotakis said that the taxi should be an economical means of transport.
Key points of the Prime Minister’s interview:
- Any crisis in the Eurozone cannot leave us indifferent and causes us intense concern
- The president of SYRIZA has an open invitation to go to the parliament’s finance committee about the cost of the program he announced.
- I believe that von der Leyen will be the president of the Commission.
- Regarding the discussion about a right turn in the ND: There is no chance in my day that the ND will return to ideological entrenchment for which the party paid dearly in the past.
- On the Lytra case: We have made many changes to the Criminal Code for domestic violence. Here we were absolutely justified because we made a change that provides that a doctor who finds that domestic violence has been committed, has the possibility to appeal to the prosecutor without the victim’s confession. The panic button has saved lives. This problem concerns us all.
- Continuous effort to strengthen the security of citizens. The police must adapt to the new challenges of our times. The overall picture will already start to improve.
- The core philosophy of the self-employment deemed income decision will not change. It was an intervention that we had announced before the election. If there are injustices, they will be corrected.
- Citizens in the European elections sent us a message to fight accuracy, they told us we trust you with an asterisk.
- Skopje cannot play Athens.
