The road of the Western Balkans is a one-way road to Europe and we will continue to defend this, emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis, after his participation in the Ministerial Meeting for the European Perspective of the Western Balkans.

“Twenty-one years after the adoption of the Thessaloniki Agenda regarding the European intensive perspective of the Western Balkans, Greece is once again at the forefront and vanguard of this great effort” summarized Mr. Gerapetritis.

“Certainly, this path should be based on the faithful observance of the European acquis, democracy, the rule of law, of course the rights of minorities and the faithful application of international law and international agreements.

I had the opportunity to raise these issues. Greece will continue to be at the core of the states, the friends of the Western Balkans in order to promote a Europe, which will be large, will be strong and will include all the states of our wider region for progress, for peace, for prosperity”, he emphasized.
