“Fire” against Stefanos Kasselakis was unleashed by Yannis Ragousis who is one of the 87 who signed the letter requesting the immediate convening of the bodies.

“If Mr. Kasselakis had disclosed before his election as president of SYRIZA, his true beliefs and if he had shown his political self, I believe that he would not have been elected,” Mr. Ragousis pointed out characteristically speaking on Friday morning in ANT1 and emphasized that if “elections were held now, he would get half the votes of those he had taken.”

Mr. Ragousis continued by saying that “if a leadership issue is opened, we will see all the data… If we go to elections, he will get half the votes of what he had received”, he said and then declared: “If he continues, will turn SYRIZA into a party of employees and slaves”.

In fact, Mr. Ragousis also spoke about the low numbers the party got in the European elections, saying that “the main responsibility lies with Stefanos Kasselakis”.

It is recalled that yesterday 87 executives and MPs of SYRIZA sent a joint letter to the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, underlining that “divisive tactics, dismissals and targeting of executives, because they express their opinion, are far from the dialogue culture of a democratic party”.

Commenting on the election result, they emphasize that “despite the huge drop in the percentages of the ND, SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance lost strength and the progressive space as a whole did not strengthen, on the contrary, we had record abstention and the rise of the extreme right”.

“We should be proud of the fact that our party does not owe a single euro to the banks, has always served transparency in practice and was independent of financial interests. At the same time, it is not possible to take such critical decisions for the rationalization of the party’s media, concerning workers, decisions of a historic nature for the Left, such as the suspension of the daily newspaper Avgi, without even being discussed in some collective body” , they note in their letter.”
