Her extension of strict measures to deal with the sports violence applied in football and basketball fields, the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, announced from the floor of the Parliament in response to a topical question by PASOK MP, T. Nikolaidis, about the delay in the granting of financial benefits to athletes and female athletes from the State.

“In an upcoming bill that will come in a few days, we will expand the responsibilities regarding cases of delinquency in basketball as well, in which, by ministerial decision, the electronic ticket with identification will also be introduced there so as to close the topic of the basketball games on the issue of the identity of the tickets”, stressed G. Vroutsis, underlining that with this measure it will stop “let the basketball court be an open vine.” At the same time, he added that “basketball courts will also be banned on penalty of closing the games by fans, in the event that smoke bombs fall or flares are lit.”

In fact, referring to the bill that the national delegation has already voted on to deal with fan violence in football, he pointed out that it seems that for the first time it is bearing fruit and “positive footprint”.
