In the wake of the devastating fires that hit the country yesterday and all the previous days, with the fronts “springing up” one after the other, despite the draconian security measures and the red alert that the country has set, due to the degree of danger, it is meeting today at 11 am the Council of Ministers.
Continuous improvement of citizens’ daily lives is the non-negotiable issue that the prime minister will raise again with his ministers, insisting at the same time on speed and efficiency.
The reforms that are already recorded in the government program of the ND and have been announced by the prime minister himself and the relevant ministers, are being put on the carpet with the constant request of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the members of the Council of Ministers to step on the “gas” and proceed immediately with everything the issues that are open and need resolution.
Such issues are still on the table of the Council of Ministers today, with the situation on the front of the climate crisis and the fires, which hit the country very early this year, prioritizing every legislative initiative that helps in the direction of dealing with the consequences of these phenomena. Under these conditions, among the issues that will be discussed today at the Maximos Palace is the proposal by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilia regarding the cleaning of plots, measures to prevent and deal with forest fires.
A process that has already started as according to sources of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, “More than 320,000 plots have been cleared so far” based on the data of the digital platform “http://akatharista.apps.gov.gr”.
It is recalled that the platform in question was created by the Ministry of Digital Governance in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and the Ministry of the Interior, simplifying the procedures, so as to enable anyone interested to monitor whether the rules regarding the cleaning of uncovered areas.
In particular, the new digital service enables the citizen to submit an application for the cleaning of his plot and also to make complaints about gross plots, while the municipality will register the data from the autopsies it carries out.
They also remain central to the government’s goals the treatment of accuracy and the parallel permanent increase in citizens’ incomes through salaries and pensions, the reduction of unemployment and taxes. Reinforcing initiatives are being taken to deal with other issues that make everyday life miserable, such as transport and commuting, especially in large urban centers, the staffing of public and local government services by speeding up ASEP procedures.

- Presentation by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras regarding the priorities for resilient infrastructure and sustainable transport,
- Presentation by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilia, regarding the clearing of land, measures to prevent and deal with forest fires.
