From Central Committee of SYRIZA no “white smoke” came out. New presidents and “87” renewed their appointment for the next meetings which, according to Stefanos Kasselakis, will be dense. “I promise that from now on I will disturb you in the collective. Prepare bodies to meet all the time, but also in August if necessary”, he said in his second opinion, assessing, after the last two debates in the Political Secretariat and Central Committee, that he has the majority and can come out victorious from the debates of the bodies. Koumundourou is still “boiling”, as the two camps are clearly operating on a completely different frequency.

What did he understand? Stefanos Kasselakis from yesterday’s long process?

How the intra-party shootings are not going to stop. So he decided to ring a “bell” for deletions just before the work of the KE was closed: “let us all agree that you can say whatever you want within the organs. But if the next day you are on a public platform and you contradict the spirit and decisions of the party and the organs without observing the Statute that separates the personal position from the party position, then obviously the members of the organs and its President should take a position Know that this is not a threat, it is common sense.”

Although many believed that Stefanos Kasselakis would not open his papers in relation to the statutory changes however, he proceeded with his protology in announcements. He confirmed the information that existed that he wishes to change the entire organizational structure of the party. He proposed replacing the Central Committee with the National Membership Council, which will consist of 201 members (in which 20 Coordinators & 20 Deputy Coordinators of the Regional Member Committees will participate ex officio). This instrument:

– It will meet twice a year (January and July) where it will draw up and review the party’s annual action plan.
– It will elect the Secretary, the Organizing Coordinator and the Organizing Committee of the party.
– He will elect the Political Council of Members.
– He will elect the Coordinators & Deputy Coordinators of the Departments.
– He proposed that the position of the Political Secretariat be taken by the Political Council of Members, which will consist of 21 Members: the President, the Secretary and the Coordinator of the Organizational Party, the Head of the K.O (in case the President is not a Member of Parliament) , the Secretary and the Director of K.O. It will be supplemented by the rotating annual participation of 50% of the deputies of the KO and 50% of the coordinators of the Departments.

The Central Committee was marked by the conflict of the president with his team “87”which raised an issue referendums for the next steps of SYRIZA and the formation of the centre-left.

The top governing body closed its proceedings with a surprise announcement about realisation statutory conference the three days October 4 – 6. It is recalled that October 6th is the day when the PASOK elections are scheduled for the selection of the new leader. It is a fact that the “mother of battles” in the intra-party field will take place in mid-autumn.

The proposal of Stefanos Kasselakis was passed by a majority, while the amendments of “87” were rejected. Disagreements were recorded here as well, as a large majority spoke for the side of the leadership, the “87”, however they talk about balances in the 60% to 40%. Stefanos Kasselakis did not fail to “nail” yesterday the members of the K.E. of SYRIZA that despite his appeal, not enough money was collected for Avgi, only 7,000 euros.

The positions of the executives

During yesterday’s briefings, the executives of the organization focused on both the election result and the strategy followed by the president, but also on the center-left. They mentioned among others:

– Olga Gerovasili: “Collectiveness is not a weakness. Nor is it contrary to the determination we should have. The discussion, the dialogue, the opinions, the experiences, the specialized knowledge of each and every one are wealth. We cannot go with a logic that anyone who does not keep silent is a subversive.”

– Christos Spirtzis: “Liquidation of a party in operation for the first time we will watch”.

– Nikos Pappas: “The statute provides that the statutory changes are made based on the decisions of the statutory conference. If there is an opinion that constitutional changes should be made based on the referendums, it should be submitted and go to the congress”.

– Yiannis Ragousis: “A strong opponent to the ND will not be formed by disbanding the parties that will participate but by a body that will submit unified ballots to the Supreme Court, in order to claim the bonus of parliamentary seats provided for by the electoral law.”

– Thanasis Theocharopoulos: “There were many pre-election mistakes. Post-election even more. Posts with insinuations about the transparency of the party, with insinuations about subversives up to the former president, with political persecutions.”

– Dimitris Chatzisokratis: Today, we all belong to the New People’s Front (NFP). It is not enough, however, to declare support for the NFP and not draw ideas and conclusions about our own broad Left.

– Stergios Kalpakis: “It is hypocritical to point out to the Central Committee the risks of the liquidation of the party and to say that some of us want the dissolution of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance, but your proposals for constitutional changes lead directly to the liquidation of the party.”
