To the Minister of Health was a guest, Adonis Georgiadeswho talked about the block in prescribing for private doctorssince they do not offer services in public hospitals.

“Our legislative initiative has been wronged because public opinion is focused on an article which is a series of previous articles in the same bill. In other words, in the bill we are voting on, we increase the allowance to 2,100 euros for the doctor who will go from the mainland to some remote area during the summer for up to three months”, the minister initially said, adding:

“We are also increasing the number of barren areas, but we are also greatly increasing the financial remuneration of the doctors who serve in the barren areas. In other words, a doctor will receive 7,100 euros more per year with the new law.”

At the same time, Mr. Georgiadis informed that he contacted medical associations in Xanthi, Drama, Sparta and other areas, and there is a willingness from private doctors to contribute voluntarily to the on-calls, as he explained.

“If there is continuity, then it is possible that we will not activate the sanctions against doctors who will refuse to work in hospitals.”
