The conflict in the Parliament over the conclusion of the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office on the surveillance is now frontal, with Kostis Hatzidakis attracting the attention of the opposition representatives who called on him to answer if he was called to testify during the investigation and if he is going to move legally.

“I respect the decision”the Minister emphasized, adding that “from then on, it is understood that I, like you, will not waive any of our legal rights”.

“It is clear as I stand and speak from the government seats, that the prime minister trusts me completely. Nothing else can happen. I respect the decisions of justice. I guess you all do too. Regarding the procedures, who is invited, why they are invited, why they are not invited, whoever is not invited will be, I repeat, a discussion, it is obvious from the tone of your statements in parliament, either in the plenary session or in the institutions and transparency committee, the competent people will be invited and you will receive answers” , argued Kostis Hatzidakis, pointing out that “I cannot answer you because they were not summoned, this is what the competent authorities, who did the relevant investigation, judged.”

Earlier, Sokratis Famellos had called on the Minister to answer if he appealed to the Greek courts “since your rights were violated and you were monitored for two months by both the predator and the EYP”, stressing that “if the politicians do not defend their rights to they remain in their ministerial positions then they cannot defend the rights of the citizens”.
