“Really, didn’t the Mitsotakis government know for five years that the conditions were difficult?”, states the statement of the main opposition party.
Attack on Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the occasion of the development of the fire in north-eastern Attica, SYRIZA issued a statement, commenting on the inter-ministerial meeting.
His announcement in more detail SYRIZA:
“The audacity and irresponsibility of Mr. Mitsotakis is unprecedented. A few hours after the devastating fire even burned areas within the urban fabric of Attica, Mr. Mitsotakis once again hid behind the “difficult conditions”, while he went so far as to claim that “every year we try to be better”!
Did the Mitsotakis government not know for five years that the conditions were difficult? Did we have to get to the middle of August and 100,000 acres and dozens of houses and businesses within Attica had burned for him to realize it?
Unfortunately for the Greek people, the phrase that most accurately describes the actions of the Mitsotakis government is the following: every year and worse, in all sectors. Every day more dangerous. For Democracy, the rule of law, the economy, security, the environment, our very lives.”
