Reply to Stefanos Kasselakis for his criticism of the prime minister, the government representative gives his statement.

THE Pavlos Marinakis criticizes the leader of the official opposition for the “dozens of announcements/posts he has issued in a few 24 hours” and asks the opposition for costed proposals.

The statement of Mr. Marinakis in more detail:

“Mr. Kasselakis asked, in one of the dozens of announcements/posts he has issued in a few 24 hours, why the Prime Minister will visit the affected areas next Tuesday with the co-competent government officials and representatives of the local government.

It is reasonable for a political leader who perceives a visit as an occasion for a photo or video and in general his role as a roving influencer to wonder.

Now let’s go to the essence that also concerns the citizens: in order for such an important meeting to be meaningful, the required damage records must first have preceded (besides, from the first moment it became possible 20 crews of the General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters and State Aid consisting of of over 60 engineers started the autopsies), the necessary meetings to estimate the cost of restoration and in general every preparatory action to present a comprehensive restoration plan, both of the damage to the natural environment and to citizens’ property, on which a constructive debate, with the aim of finding the best solutions for citizens.

Therefore, it would be much more useful for the country and the residents of the affected areas to have an official opposition that would table specific and mostly costed proposals, rather than having a leader who posts as he breathes. Nothing else, but if you look at the latest program of SYRIZA for the European elections, you will not find even half a proposal for dealing with the climate crisis and further strengthening civil protection”.
