The President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, focused on the problems of the primary production sector in his speech in Alexandria Imathia.

He pointed out the failure of the government with “an OPEKEPE of corruption that changed five presidents during New Democracy. They are fooling you with subsidies and trying to hide their responsibilities with the argument that it is “Europe’s fault”. But in the end it turned out that OPEKEPE was placed under European supervision, because it is incapable of distributing the subsidies and aids”.

He repeated the proposal of PASOK-Movement of Change for a new EKAS for 350,000 low pensioners and abolition of the personal difference.

Regarding the housing crisis, Mr. Androulakis pointed out that there should be social housing programs as well as “opening of closed houses with incentives to the owners such as zero ENFIA to then join them in pools of social housing with low rents”.

Referring to the accuracy and the increased cost of living, Mr. Androulakis emphasized: “The Bank of Greece identifies four sectors with oligopolies. Oligopoly in private health where two financial interests own 76% of private health services. Oligopoly in food trading, energy and banking”.

Finally, regarding the emerging political environment, he commented: “The 60% abstention from the European elections was a message of despair. We are not here to manage in an adventurous way the despair of the people, but to show the way of existing solutions and responsibility. To make our country resilient, strong and our people proud”.
