“Health, education, energy have become a business in the hands of the domestic oligarchy. And, if I keep talking about political autonomy, it’s because how else will a party clash with them if it doesn’t have political autonomy?”, said the president of PASOK -Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, speaking in Corfu.

Speaking about ethics in politics, he noted: “You cannot be a politician without ethics, because sooner or later you are led down paths that do not serve the public and national interest.”

“I am in a hurry to win the New Democracy to serve the people and not to get some ministerial chairs. And I jog your memory: in the first years of the establishment of our Movement, people joined PASOK because they imagined that they would become a minister, a member of parliament? He joined PASOK because he wanted to overthrow New Democracy and the maintenance that continued post-gender practices. So, today I call on the democratic world – and here from Corfu – to unite our anxieties and our forces. Because this is our duty even today: for the New Democracy to leave, but for a PASOK to come with knowledge, with responsibility, with morals, with seriousness, to leave its stamp on the great issues of the country” added the president of PASOK -Movement of Change.

“Our struggle has always been characterized by political ethics, autonomy from interests and patriotic, progressive politics. So I believe we can achieve all our big goals. But unity is needed. Unity of mind, not unity of sharing. It is not unity for everyone to feel that they are compromising because they have a piece of the pie. But mental unity at the base of the Democratic Party. And I will serve this unity with all my strength, as I served during the very difficult years” he said, giving his own political triptych.

Mr. Androulakis reiterated the moral commitment by the presidential candidates that the day after the internal party elections they will support the Movement’s fight: “All the candidates have a duty, the next day, to be candidates for parliament with PASOK in their constituencies and to commit to unity. Not like in 2017 when in the end it was the late Fofi Gennimata, I and Giannis Maniatis. Not like in 2021 when after a while a candidate made a party. The commitment to unity must be from everyone, publicly.”
