“If we lost, why is SYRIZA disbanding today? PASOK did not lose. It continues to build on solid foundations,” he emphasized
In Thebes, Nikos Androulakis spoke tonight and among other things he said that “we are one step before the total reset. But it takes effort and work.”
He claimed that PASOK endured, stood up, united, renewed and today is stronger than at any other time in the last decade. “We have won large municipalities, we have a strong presence in all areas of political action,” he added.
As the president of PASOK-KINAL, who is again a candidate for leadership, pointed out, all the major issues that concern the citizens were opened up by PASOK, which is why SYRIZA collapsed. “Some argue that ‘we lost in the European elections’. If we lost, why is SYRIZA disbanding today? Because, quite simply, PASOK did not lose. It continues to build on solid foundations,” Mr. Androulakis asserted, leaving points for his critics.
“Not only did our co-conspirators melt, not only did we endure, not only did we turn the sun on our symbols, not only did we settle our debts, not only did we form organizations all over Greece, but PASOK changed the relationships. From 41% (ND)-32% (SYRIZA)-8% (PASOK), in two and a half years we are at 29% (ND)-15%(SYRIZA)-13% (PASOK) just before our dreams come true. But it takes effort and faith,” he added.
He commented on the information being leaked about the Prime Minister’s upcoming statements to the TIF on the housing problem.
“I raised the most acute problem first, that of rents. We have included very advanced social housing and pool housing solutions in our program. After four years of talking about the incentives that should be given to open the closed houses, today Mr. Mitsotakis promises a low tax to the owners of closed houses with the only obligation to make them available for rent for three years. No, we propose a rent with a ceiling for ten years” he noted, explaining that in this way there will be a social return to the intervention of the state for the benefit of the economically weaker.
Finally, regarding the problems of the primary sector, Mr. Androulakis made special reference to the absence of an integrated plan for water resources, the problems with OPEKEPE and ELGA.
“We will clash with those who fix our homeland in a country of low expectations” he concluded.
