“The Greek Police and Armed Forces guarantee the security of the country,” said the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, from Kastanies and specifically from the “EF 1” Military Police Station.

Evros is protected, emphasized the minister, assuring the continuation of the implementation of specific projects and infrastructures required in the context of the very important and huge, in terms of volume and importance, project, as he characteristically said, that is being carried out in the region.

He also referred to the continuation of the extension of the fence and the hiring of another 150 border guards in Rodopi and Kavala to control the minimized migration flows – as he stated – today. He reiterated that the mission of the Greek police and border guards is to protect the borders of the country and of Europe and they serve it inexorably based on the European Treaties, such as the Schengen Agreement and the New Migration Pact, which was decided by the European Council, having conquered the confidence of the member countries of the European Union.
