Stefanos Kasselakis announced his candidacy for the internal party elections of SYRIZA.

His announcement was made in a video he posted on his social media accounts.

The text of the candidate – now – president of SYRIZA:

“I’m Stefanos. Purely. We were born people, not offices.

I apologize.

From you who let us down.
From the young people who brought us the first party in the European elections.
From the families of the old fighters who shared a bite of bread together, not a handful of offices.
Of the 150,000 citizens who lined up just a year ago.

You saw. Now you know.
Nothing more.

We look to tomorrow.

Let’s build a SYRIZA that does not drive us away, but accommodates us all.
A new unity at the base, in society, in real life.

Our SYRIZA will give all the strength to the members and friends.

Our SYRIZA will not beg to become a component of the entanglement.

Our SYRIZA will be autonomous and self-sufficient.
Today, the voice of the many.
Tomorrow, the government of progress.

An end to the underestimation of human life by the Mitsotakis government.
End of life with the part.
We are taking back our dignity.

We are building a country that will provide social protection, security, well-paid work, and give equal opportunities to all to pursue their dreams.

The government is leaving and you know it.

In her place:
Or will an allegedly center-left construction come in the service of the entanglement.
Or our own SYRIZA will come, a renewed, indestructible and incorruptible party of the Modern Left.

SYRIZA is either reborn now or goes down in history as a memory.

The old has strong roots.
The new may be slow, it may encounter obstacles, it may fall, but it rises again. It always reaches the end of the path. It is always born.

I ask you to walk this path of the new together.
Your support is needed more than ever.

I don’t have a party apparatus.
I had and have only you.

So don’t wait for the presidential election time.
Fill out the OM and Prefectural forms now.
Join SYRIZA directly by October 11th to be able to vote for delegates.

Let your voice be heard.
Be able to say a resounding, “I’m here!”

“I am here”, so that no nomination is excluded.
“I am here”, so that no voter is excluded from the ballot box.

Tomorrow passes through your hands today.

Personally, I do not feel betrayed, but more determined than ever to never betray you.

I’m here because you’re here.
And we are here for our own SYRIZA.
For our country, for our lives, for our future.”

This is the fourth nomination for the leadership of SYRIZA, which is also contested by Pavlos Polakis, Sokratis Famellos and Nikos Farandouris.
