“If the big difference we have with her is not resolved Turkeyi.e. EEZ and continental shelf, there will be no long-term peace and prosperity in our region,” he said on his radio and to Paul Tsima the foreign minister George Gerapetritis.

He noted that the resolution should be based on international law, however he emphasized that we are not yet close to that.

The minister also underlined that this is the right time for Greece, as our country currently has a very good international capital, which is “stronger than ever”.

Mr. Gerapetritis made it clear that our country is never going to consent to raising issues of sovereignty.

Responding to criticisms about the policy of rapprochement in the Greek-Turkish dialogue, he said that he respects the different opinions, but – he added – “my duty is to create the conditions of peace, prosperity and national self-confidence”.

Regarding the next meetings he will have with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Mr. Gerapetritis said that they will examine the context of the discussions that will follow.
