“Tips” at Duka for “engineers who must know Maths well” – “The meeting with Gerulano was excellent, we had a common language of understanding”
In the final stretch for the second round of his internal party elections PASOKwith one of the two “gladiators”, Nikos Androulakisto be hosted in his radio room and to speak to Vasilis Chiotis and Noti Papadopoulos.
Initially, he did not hide his optimism about Sunday’s final result. “The intra-party battle took place in a context of political culture and seriousness, and I think this is also PASOK’s gift for the next day”, as he characteristically noted. Regarding Haris Doukas’ report that “70% voted for a change of leadership in PASOK”, he replied that “70% voted for my other co-candidates, but this Sunday 100% will vote between me and Mr. Doukas. This is what mathematics says and as engineers we must know it well”.
He also informed that the meeting with Pavlos Geroulanos went extremely well, as there was a “common language of understanding”, as he said. “Pavlos Geroulanos was in an important sector of our Parliament, in Finance, responsible for the great financial tool of the Recovery Fund, and I am sure we will cooperate even more strongly, because our goal is to find a way to express the new expectations of world, without the mistakes of yesterday”.
At the same time, he focused on the unity that prevails in PASOK, leaving “tips” for unity in SYRIZA and ND, with the former being “confused” and the latter not being able to “celebrate 50 years together”, pointing out that the “green” faction has a historic opportunity for the good of the country. He added that he will meet with all his co-candidates, stressing that the next day they will all be together with common anxieties and away from “bargains”.
“I don’t divide the world of PASOK into 70-30, as others do”
Afterwards, Mr. Androulakis repeated that he does not divide the world of PASOK into 70-30, nor 80-20, “as others do”, pointing out that from the first night there should not be winners and losers. “Unity does not mean sharing a pie, but common goals and common priorities, with the full use of all, co-candidates and non-candidates.”
Especially for the mayor of Athens, he stated that “a position with enhanced responsibilities certainly makes it very difficult for the president’s continued presence, both because of the Parliament and outside the Parliament. “I wasn’t a member of parliament either, of course, but for a short period of time, not for the remaining 3 years. In any case, I honor Haris Doukas and will cooperate with him, as happened with the self-governing elections”.
