“Every month the number of new buses running in Attica is increasing,” said the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikourasduring his visit, today Monday, to his garage OASA to the Thracomakedonesaccompanied by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, Vassilis Oikonomou, the General Secretary of Transport, Despina Paliaroutas and the CEO of OASA, Giorgos Spiliopoulos.
Today, as part of the OASA competition, 35 new, modern buses with anti-pollution technology are launched, which serve 11 lines. Together with the 75 already circulating on the peri-urban lines of Attica, as well as the 140 new electric vehicles of OSY, the total number of new buses that have been integrated into the urban transport fleet now amounts to 250.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Christos Staikouras, after inspecting the new vehicles, said:
“Each month the number of new buses running in Attica is increasing. Today, 35 new, modern vehicles with anti-pollution technology are integrated into 11 lines of Attica. These will be added to the 75 already in circulation, as well as to the 140 electric buses.
Therefore, the urban transport fleet has already been renewed, with 250 new vehicles, which offer better and more quality services to the passenger public and ensure accessibility to all our fellow citizens. For the first time since 2009. For the first time in the last 15 years!
The goal is the complete renewal of the vehicle fleet, with the launch of 950 new buses in Attica by the end of the summer of 2025. And this goal will be achieved.”
