After the end of the festivities in Edessa, Stefanos Kasselakis walked the streets of the city and immediately became a magnet for the residents, who welcomed him with open arms and enthusiasm.

St. Kasselakis talked to the citizens, while a lady told him: “You are our hope».

A crowd of people rushed to greet him and cheer him on, while he was photographed with young and old.

A little later, speaking to a local media outlet, St. Kasselakis said:

It is a great pleasure to be here with Theodora in beautiful Edessa, 112 years after liberation from the Ottoman yoke. We must remember our history, draw inspiration from our struggles and become a better society. And seeing the children here today who marched with such pride, I really feel a sense of responsibility myself. To offer as an alternative, progressive, patriotic, modern government solution to the place, so that they can have the possibility to claim their dreams. This is the main thing».
