Zoe Konstantopoulou visited the Corfu hospital and the island’s mayor, Stefanos Poulimenos yesterday Monday, during her visit to Corfu and was informed about the many and serious problems facing the Municipality and the local community, according to a party announcement.

Z. Konstantopoulou referred to the great struggle that the men and women of Corfu are fighting “in order to resolve issues that should be resolved”, while she pledged that Freedom Sailing will bring these issues to the Parliament and will persistently seek their solution.

The mayor of Corfu thanked the president of Freedom of Navigation for her commitment to reach the best solution to the island’s problems as soon as possible.

“Know that you have an ally and a voice in the Parliament”

During her visit to the Corfu Hospital, Zoe Konstantopoulou was informed about the huge problems and the “terrifying state abandonment and indifference” experienced by the workers.

“We will continue to speak, shout, claim and press until the basic, the due, the self-evident are fulfilled.”

He talked about the life battle that the workers are fighting despite the conditions of degradation and undermining by the Government, both of the right to Health and the right of the people who serve Health to work in conditions of safety and dignity.

He called on the Government “to take responsibility” for the disregard of Public Health, “it is shameful to abandon doctors, nurses, workers and patients in this condition which is really and literally left to the excess of selflessness, giving and humanity, but which certainly it does not reflect a modern welfare state.”

The President of the Doctors of the Corfu Hospital thanked Zoi and commented that they do not have many ways to make their problems heard regarding the Government’s treatment of citizens’ health.

Zoe thanked the workers and promised that Freedom Sailing will be their ally and voice and will immediately bring their requests to Parliament.
