According to information, in his introductory statement the Minister referred to the special zoning for tourism, pointing out that the form of the text – as it was posted in public consultation last summer – will be reviewed. Specifically, G. Gerapetritis focused on the provisions concerning the uninhabited islands and rocky islets, according to which they cannot have economic – touristic activity, expressing his objections but also his intention to have them reconsidered. Furthermore, referring to the Cyprus issue, he reportedly emphasized that when he assumed the portfolio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs it was not on the UN agenda.
Regarding the Greek-Turkish dialogue, he spoke of a calm and serious discussion, of a high level.
The briefing started with treats for the MPs on behalf of Dora Bakoyannis for the birthdays of her twin grandchildren.
