Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to refer to the changes in the doctrine of civil protection – The readiness for shots from the right and the left

A dress rehearsal is expected today in the Parliament, as to what will follow in the next “dense” political period, until the beginning of next year, which will also lead to the election of the new President of the Republic.
The spotlights today focus on the information that the Prime Minister will provide, on his own initiative, regarding the planning of prevention and anti-fire shielding in the summer that passed us by. A discussion that will be held at the level of political leaders, without, however, as it is expected to be limited to the agenda but, as is customary when all political leaders are present, extended to a conversation on all the matter and in high tones on all the burning issues, from accuracy to health and national issues. After all, this is the first debate in which all the political leaders will participate after the European elections in June and while in the meantime issues have arisen that have sharpened the political scene and the confrontation between them.
At the same time, the debate will be held under the regime of new parliamentary associations after the political “strengthening” of Nikos Androulakis from his re-election to the presidency of PASOK, the fluidity and fragmentation within SYRIZA and also the – for the time being – poll strengthening parties that are placed “more to the right” than the ND. A political “geography” that is expected to give the first samples of writing, in the opposition tones against the government but also in who will prevail among the opposition seats. On the other hand, what is expected to become clear from the government’s side is that Kyriakos Mitsotakis, given the new conditions in PASOK after the internal party elections and the upward trend already registered in the first opinion polls by Harilaou Trikoupis, is expected to become the main his political opponent Nikos Androulakis.
With the polling “air”, however, which still give the ND, the measurements, despite the retreat it also shows, it is estimated that the prime minister will use strict and high tones if necessary, in the opposition criticism, which is considered prescribed and ex leftists of the ND but also from its right, with the shots he fired last week from Brussels still fresh, when referring to national issues he spoke of “lentil patriots”.
In any case, according to government officials, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, despite the severe criticism he expects from the floor of the Parliament, has no substantial reason – as they estimate – to worry about the impression that the meeting may leave, as – for now – no appears to be threatened by the existing protagonists of the political system.
However, since Nikos Androulakis is coming to the Parliament with the air of his reaffirmation and re-election to the presidency of PASOK, it is estimated that this does not change the essence of his political stance and the opposition path he has taken until today, but it is considered certain that the first that the leadership of Harilaou Trikoupis will choose to do, is to raise the tone, under the burden of proving that he and his party will become the alternative proposal to the ND of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The seats of SYRIZA, even temporarily, are represented by Nikos Pappas, for whom it is considered that his “oppositional voice” is “lowered” only by what is going on inside Koumoundourou and the image he transmits to the citizens. Finally, looking to their right, ND executives expect the leaders in question to focus mainly on national and other related issues, in the light of “half-truths” or fake news that they “easily employ”, as they emphasized.
As far as the agenda of the meeting is concerned, today’s debate is being held at the initiative of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, although corresponding requests are pending from both PASOK and SYRIZA for a pre-agenda debate. The prime minister is expected to give an account of the actions of the government and all relevant authorities, in terms of their response to an admittedly difficult period, given that the summer just passed was recorded as the hottest in forty years. “This year a very serious effort was made” the prime minister is expected to emphasize and praise the work and effort of those who contributed to the difficult extinguishing of the fronts that started very early in the country, already in the spring, while they continued much later than usual, facing fronts even in autumn.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to refer to the changes in the doctrine of civil protection and especially the treatment of fires, referring to prevention actions, the cleaning of plots and forests, the use of drones and the flights of loaded aerials through extinguishing on dangerous days. Prevention and means that contributed decisively to avoid uncontrollable situations but also to the task of extinguishing fires. “We have done much more, therefore, in the field of prevention, we have done much more in the field of dealing with fire,” the prime minister is expected to emphasize.
