The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, in his first parliamentary intervention after this decision, referred to yesterday’s development by the Financial Prosecutor regarding the lifting of the protection status of the two main witnesses of the Novartis case.

Mr. Georgiadis, who mentioned that the protection status of “the two slanderers of the Novartis scandal” had been granted, commented on the whole development: “We know that they are Mr. Filistor Destepbasidis and Mrs. Maria Marangeli. They had come here to the Parliament of the Hellenes and had sworn on the Gospel that they are not these witnesses and that they know nothing against me or the other nine. We are talking about such liars. I want to declare before the Parliament that I will immediately proceed with all the legal actions that the law enables me to take, both to punish these two slanderers and mainly to reveal before the Greek people who framed them”.

It is impossible to believe and none of us believe, said the Minister of Health, “that two such little people, suddenly woke up and told these monstrous lies. It is obvious that someone planted them and from today the effort begins to reveal to the Greek people who they are and for what political purposes. They too must be brought to justice.”
