“We will continue to reduce taxes until the end of the government term” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at the inauguration of the new digital “strategy” of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE).

“The central choice of the government is gradual and fiscally sustainable tax reductions,” said the prime minister during the inauguration of the new AADE building, noting that the government is at constant war with tax evasion.

The prime minister clarified that the movement of AADE to the new state-of-the-art building is not only about saving a few million euros, but also about the working conditions of the employees.

Mr. Mitsotakis added that AADE has nothing to envy from corresponding tax authorities of other advanced countries.

For his part, Kostis Hatzidakis noted that AADE is building a new model of central structures with greater speed, better service and transparency for taxpayers while simultaneously developing digital modernization with the use of artificial intelligence.

“The tax model as we knew it is over,” the minister pointed out, noting the operation of the centers for certification and collection, service and property taxation.

According to Kostis Hatzidakis, the transition to the new system is accompanied by some “children’s diseases”, which, just as they were dealt with in the certification and collection center, will be dealt with in the tax procedures center where, according to information, thousands of requests have been accumulated.

“We have a way to control everything” was the message of Giorgos Pitsilis during the opening ceremony, marking the digital transformation of AADE with the increasing use of artificial intelligence tools in the fight against tax evasion.

It is noted that the new AADE building houses 1,100 employees who until now worked in ten different buildings.
