A question was submitted to Parliament by 26 SYRIZA MPs about (as they say) “the return to the provision of school meals by the company that prepared the meals that caused the poisoning of dozens of students in Fthiotida”

The question was submitted on the initiative of the party’s Climate Crisis and Civil Protection department head, S. Kedikoglou.

SYRIZA requests that the documents concerning the relevant licensing of the company “Giannitsis Logistics S.A.” be submitted.

In their question to the Ministers for Social Cohesion & Family, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and Home Affairs, MPs note that “public opinion is upset by the news of the return of this particular company to the provision of school meals, while it has been preceded by an unprecedented double scandal, with the poisoning of the students and the fire at the factory”, while pointing out that “the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and OPECA decided to suspend the distribution of school meals by the company and to temporarily exclude it from public supply or service contracts for 3 years , as well as the imposition of a relevant fine”.

On the occasion of the above, the MPs of SYRIZA-PS ask the co-competent ministers:

1) If the sanitary and other conditions for the re-licensing of the company “Giannitsis Logistics S.A.” are met, so that it can resume providing school meals at the Music School of Lamia, and while it has been banned from public contracts and relevant fine

2) Whether the procedures for the complete clarification of the case of fire at the industrial production unit of the company, where the school meals that caused the poisoning of the students were prepared, will soon be completed.

Finally, they request the submission of the documents related to the relevant licensing of the company “Giannitsis Logistics SA”, which prove that it can provide school lunches to the Music School of Lamia.
