PASOK submitted an objection of unconstitutionality to Article 13 of the bill for the modernization of waste management, the improvement of the energy saving framework and the development of energy projects in the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
According to the text of the objection, submitted by PASOK, the proposed regulation of article 13 “obviously contradicts the Constitution” as it gives the responsibility for waste management to the General Secretary for Coordination of Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, removing it from the local authorities, if and is a “local case”. “As pointed out, the OTAs from the Constitution have the responsibility of managing local affairs, while the responsibility of urban waste management has been assigned to them until today due to the fact that it is exclusively a local matter”, it is supported, among other things, in the tension.
The debate on the objection is expected to be held in the Plenary after the positions of the rapporteurs of the parliamentary groups, while the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, is also expected to make a speech later.
