Mandatory vehicles with chains from October – What did the sub. Transport in SKAI 100.3

The signing of a ministerial decision stating that from October to April all drivers should have in their vehicle chains, snow blankets or wear snow tires, announced through SKAI 100.3 in the show of Vassilis Chiotis and Notis Papadopoulos the Deputy Minister in charge of Transport Affairs, Michalis Papadopoulos.

He also announced that the installation of anti-skid chains will become a mandatory course for prospective drivers and will even be examined by sampling.

The Undersecretary estimated that the decision will take effect from next October, as it takes some time until it is made public.

Mr. Papadopoulos also announced that by the end of May the new Road Traffic Code will be published, which will be put into consultation and he estimates that by the end of the summer it will have been put into operation.

He noted that he will approach reality without discounts on security. He typically stated that the speed limits in the cities will be reduced and will be increased in some parts of the highways.

Referring to the waterways, he estimated that the waterways in the Ionian Sea may have been piloted in the summer.
