The prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with senior executives of large and small and medium-sized companies European chemical industrieswho are in Greece for the industry conference, which is being organized in Athens.

During the discussion, solutions were considered to boost the competitiveness of the European chemical industry, with an emphasis on energy costs, but also the need to find the optimal balance between the robustness of the European economy and an effective green transition.

It was pointed out that Europe should remain neutral to the emergence of new clean energy technologies, which could make a substantial contribution to reducing emissions if given the chance to mature.

The importance of maintaining highly skilled jobs in Europe was also emphasized, as well as ways to better link professional and technical education with the needs of the sector.

The executives of the chemical industries praised the high growth rates that Greece has achieved in recent years and the ability of our country to attract a large amount of investment from abroad.
