At Aegean we don’t have just one problem, Turkey’s foreign minister said in an interview, Hakan Fidanas transmitted from Istanbul by the correspondent of SKAI, Manolis Kostidis.

In fact, Mr. Fidan, who last Friday met in Athens with George Gerapetritishe said: “There is the militarization of the islands, the formations whose status has not been determined, the territorial waters, the air space.”

“We can proceed with these issues after making the correct description” he added.

“There is a process that has started and we are discussing some issues openly and honestly. We aim not to escalate the tension. There is a great effort both from us and from the Greek side, to prevent the tension from increasing. And that’s what we try to adhere to. But this is a sensitive issue. Because we have problems in the Aegean, because in the Aegean we don’t have just one problem, we have many problems we need to discuss these.

» It is a problem the militarization of the islands, which must be demilitarized, the continental shelf, the territorial waters, places whose status has not been determined, the airspace, the EEZ. There are many issues. These issues, after we make the correct description, we can proceed with the appropriate way of solving. We have to see how a different approach can be taken, looking of course at previous efforts. If this possibility exists.

» Instead of describing only the problems to go higher, and as our president says, the Aegean which is a wonderful environment, we want to turn it into a paradise that serves prosperity, security, peace, happiness of the two countries. With political and military agreements which we will sign”.
