Evangelos Apostolakis “threw” the ball to Alexis Tsipras, calling on him to take a position on the developments in SYRIZA, shortly before the internal party elections to elect a new president
Evangelos Apostolakis announced his exit from SYRIZA with a post on social media, who, among other things, emphasized that he “SYRIZA cannot inspire” and that he “does not intend to become part of the problem”.
At the same time, the Member of State threw the “ball” at Alexis Tsipras, noting that “I’m still here and, before making my personal decisions, I’m waiting to hear from him.”
His post:
In recent months, a painful political tragedy has been unfolding before the eyes of Greek society. SYRIZA-PS lost its orientation, entered an incredible vortex of introversion and internal conflict and denied the expectations of those citizens who believed that the goal of a Greece with equality, justice and social cohesion is possible.
Personal rivalries, undemocratic procedures, disrespect and disregard for the will of the base of the faction, led to today’s tragic picture of division and hostility between people who were fighting for common goals and visions.
No, this SYRIZA cannot inspire, he is not capable of carrying out the tasks entrusted to him by the Greek people as the Official Opposition, he does not care about anyone else, except a party group of individuals fighting a battle for personal survival.
In these difficult times, each and every one of us is confronted, not only with our collective failure, but also with personal responsibility.
It is known that I am today in the Greek parliament as a member of parliament, following a personal invitation from the former President Alexis Tsipras, with whom I collaborated, from my positions of responsibility, during difficult times for the country. I joined forces with him with determination and consistency, because I wanted to contribute to a healthy plan for the future of Greece and the reconstruction of the progressive/democratic faction. That’s why I’m still here and, before making my personal decisions, I’m waiting to hear him out.
I don’t intend to become part of the problem, getting involved in party fights and disputes, what matters to me is the national status of the country and dealing with the crisis that plagues Greek society due to punctuality, crime and other modern problems that plague it they are struggling.
I have never put personal ambitions above the collective cause and I will not do so now either.
