A political confrontation over the VAT has erupted between the government and the PASOKafter Harilaou Trikoupi’s proposal to reduce the rate.

THE Pavlos Marinakiswith his statement, launched an attack on PASOK, saying that the proposal he submitted for a reduction of two percentage points in the VAT lasted only one day.

In more detail:

“Mr.’s proposal lasted a little more than 24 hours. Androulakis to reduce the VAT by 2 percentage points.

Yesterday we invited them to answer us 2 simple questions: where will they find the 3 billion that this move costs financially and how will they overcome the new European fiscal rules.

A few hours later, PASOK issued a statement in which it dropped the ball, repeating its intention to reduce VAT.

Today, the press representative of PASOK decided to tell us that a study will be done first before any reduction, while Mr. Androulakis in yesterday’s interview had said: “We are reducing him VAT 2%. If the revenue remains stable, then we reduce it even further.” That is, based on yesterday’s version of PASOK, the study would concern the further reduction, beyond 2%.

Our country paid very dearly for the logic of bidding and cheap promises. They owe it to PASOK to understand that “false words and big words” did not solve any problem, but, on the contrary, brought our country to bankruptcy.”
