With the mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudisthe President of PASOK-Movement for Change met at noon on Monday, Nikos Androulakis.
“We discussed the major challenges of the city and the necessary infrastructure that must be built to improve the daily life of the citizens of Thessaloniki. Issues related to Mass Transportation, the extension of the metro, the regeneration of the Exhibition and the beach front. We all have to work and I pledge that I will be on the side of the municipal authority both as its President and as a member of the city’s parliament” Mr. Androulakis.

The President of PASOK-Movement for Change responded to the Prime Minister’s reports to the cabinet.

“I want to challenge the Prime Minister and his memory: Who was talking about a horizontal VAT reduction shortly after the country’s exit from the memorandum? Me or Mr. Mitsotakis? Who was with Mr. Samara and popularized the difficult years, when we were on the verge of bankruptcy? Me or Mr. Mitsotakis? If he forgot all this, at least Ms. Bakoyannis reminded him of the second one with her interview with “Nea” last Saturday.

Our proposals are costed, specific. These are proposals that the Greek economy can withstand. Social justice proposals for a new National Health System, strong public education, support for a country that needs production, competitiveness, extroversion but also interventions related to pensions, especially for the poorest Greeks” emphasized Mr. Androulakis adding that based on everyone’s course, it is evaluated who is consistent and who is populist.

For his part, the mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, said that “Thessaloniki claims to reduce the distance between the central administration and the regions. We claim that there should be both institutional and economic decentralization. The city needs support and deep development breaths.”
