“I won’t stay independent forever – I believe an MP is most effective when he has a party and a specific strategy to serve”
On his TV and in “Today» with them Dimitris Oikonomou and Akis Pavlopoulos the independent member of parliament was invited on Thursday morning, Petros Pappaswho gave his own answers to the rumors surrounding his political future.
“Certainly me and the many people who have been disappointed by him SYRIZA he sees a situation that has forced him out of politics and has disappointed him” initially pointed out Mr. Pappas, adding that what he himself is waiting for is an alternative from the healthy progressive forces for the issues that concern him, such as, for example, how the NSY will be redeployed.
In fact, he described SYRIZA as a “Soviet-style” party, while when asked if he would join “Democracy Movement» his Stefanou Kasselakis answered:
“If I hear specific suggestions, I will think about everything. I am waiting to hear a proposal on exactly how we will rationalize a little bit the difference we have in deposit rates and lending rates, how banks will not charge depositors, how excess profits will be taxed, how wealth will be distributed, how small and medium businesses will gain access to bank lending, how will overall taxation be reduced. Those who follow the Democracy Movement are sane people and my friends some of them, who also table proposals. The issue for me is that there is no fragmentation of the progressive space.”
As for PASOKhe emphasized that he made a proven and serious internal party process and submitted serious proposals, referring to the last two amendments. “PASOK is the core of a progressive proposal, which can stand up to the ND,” said the independent MP, who however estimated that he will not remain independent forever. “I believe that an MP is more effective when he has a party and a specific strategy that he serves,” he concluded.
