Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out that the times when American ambassadors determined developments and sometimes influenced internal political developments as “belonging to another century”
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the appointment of Kimberly Guilfoyle as the US ambassador to Greece.
In particular, when asked to answer that the USA for the second time chooses to send to Greece an ambassador outside the diplomatic corps, Mr. Mitsotakis said “as a rule, the US chooses ambassadors from outside the diplomatic corps for very large and important embassies.”
Then the Prime Minister added that Mr. Tsounis had access to President Biden, while regarding Ms. Guilfoyle Mr. Mitsotakis noted that he seems to be a person who is close to Donald Trump’s environment.
At the same time, Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out that the times when the American ambassadors determined the developments and sometimes influenced the internal political developments as “belonging to another century”.
“What I want to emphasize is that our relations with the US both at the level of executive and legislative power are deep and forged and I believe that any ambassador who comes would serve to strengthen those relations,” concluded the prime minister.
