The shares of Nikos Androulakis are particularly high in Brussels, where the effort and struggle to reverse “pasokification” is recognized

With the air of the leader of the Official Opposition and without an opponent, since it seems that he will not be present as an invited representative of SYRIZA at the meeting, the Nikos Androulakis he goes to Brussels where on Thursday he will attend the pre-convention of the European Socialist Party (PES).
The European socialists will put the developments in the Western Balkans, Syria and Ukraine on the discussion table, while they will be concerned with the future of Europe. The shares of its chairman PASOK and former MEP are particularly elevated in Brussels, where the effort and struggle to reverse “pasokification” is recognized.
The fact is already welcomed by the political family of the socialists.
Nikos Androulakis: Our ambition is to govern
Executives of Harilaou Trikoupi underline that PASOK proves every day that it is a leading player in political events and sets the agenda for the government. In his televised interview with OPEN, Nikos Androulakis brought back the narrative of political change and set the goal of PASOK to take over the governance of the country in the next national elections.
“Our ambition is to govern, but it is the opposition that sets the agenda, the government is forced to do things. PASOK entered a different path, no co-government scenario with ND. The goal is an effective opposition and then the next government,” he said characteristically.
H. Trikoupi: Amendment for Spartans – Another government mistake
After the pressure on the banks and the hard pressure of PASOK, the amendment for the suspension of the state funding of the Spartans by the government came with a delay as noted by close associates of Nikos Androulakis who remind the initiatives of PASOK and in this issue.
On September 11, 2023, PASOK MPs tabled an amendment to suspend the state funding of the shell party of the Golden Dawn criminal organization.
On October 17, 2024, they re-submitted the amendment after it was revealed that they had also been financed for the European elections, even though the Areios Pagos had blocked them.
From PASOK, they are talking about yet another governmental blunder with heavy costs for the Greek people, since as they point out, the “Spartans” collected 1,081,000 euros, of which the 995,000 euros of regular funding, will never return to the Greek people .
The position of Nikos Androulakis was sharp regarding the delay in the funding block of the Spartan party from the government’s side.
“In 2023 we made the first amendment. We could not lose 1 million. euro. They didn’t listen to us either because of behind the scenes processes or because of party egos. I don’t see it being commented that three Spartiaton MPs voted in favor of the budget” said the president of PASOK on the program “Hour of Greece” on the OPEN television station.
The president of PASOK returned the arrows of populism fired by government officials at PASOK, accusing the government of arrogance.
“Mitsotakis and his government are a monument of arrogance. Power has made them feel invulnerable. This is over, they can’t stand this other style of opposition. Change that, the opposition is now effective” said Nikos Androulakis.
As for his subject President of the RepublicNikos Androulakis clarified once again that PASOK does not enter pre-election as it is an insult to the current president as well, while he commented that the country’s highest state office is an institution that is not suitable for a “show of names” and that PASOK will placed at the right time.
