The first meeting of his political center PASOK after the holiday break is scheduled for Monday at 4pm. The agenda includes a discussion on the regional congresses throughout Greece that the party will soon organize, as well as the next parliamentary steps of the official opposition party, such as the current question on agricultural issues that will be tabled by Nikos Androulakis as leader of the Official Opposition to the Prime Minister, the amendment for the increase in private health insurance premiums and the proposal for a law that PASOK is preparing for housing.

At the table and discussion about PtD?

At the discussion table, of course, it is highly possible that the issue of the election of the President of the Republic and the management of the issue by PASOK will be raised, as it seems that in the official opposition party officials have “confused the lines” as a result of which the television panels have been recorded not one, not two, but three different opinions on the possibility of Katerina Sakellaropoulou’s re-candidacy and the position that the PASOK.

PASOK: Three different “lines” for Sakellaropoulou

The official position of Harilaou Trikoupis is that they do not enter PASOK in nomenclature as institutionally and according to the Constitution the government will propose the person and then they will evaluate it. They are even asking the Prime Minister in any decision for the current president to explain the debate that has been unfolding in the public sphere all this time. The statement of Kostas Tsoukalas on “PARAPOLITIKA 90.1” is typical.

“We raised a political issue because Mrs. Sakellaropoulou was a personal choice of the Prime Minister and in the event that she does not renew it, she should explain why she does not do so and how she evaluated her tenure. If he renews it, he will again have to explain why he let the face of the President of the Republic weaken for three months. Because all the times that a Prime Minister renewed the term of office of the respective President, it was done in a very timely manner so that this paraphilology did not exist. Why, then, if he comes and says “Sakellaropoulou” did he not say it earlier and let this questioning exist? If Mr. Mitsotakis proposes Ms. Sakellaropoulou, we will evaluate the proposal and take a positionsaid the press representative of PASOK.

At the same time, the deputy press representative of the party, Mrs. Olga Markogiannakis in an interview in Athens 9.84 declared positive in support of Sakellaropoulou’s possible candidacy.

“In case of a re-proposal of the lady SAkellaropoulouwe had supported her in her first candidacy and there will be no change in that,” noted Ms. Markogiannakis who seems to agree with the opinion of PASOK MP Pavlos Christidis.

“Since it was the proposal of Mr. Mitsotakis, we would vote for her again. He is a person, who we have said repeatedly, that we consider to have a remarkable career, which is something that the president of PASOK himself has expressed,” said Mr. Christidis in an interview with SKAI.

However, it seems that the position is not shared by other important members of the green faction.

In particular, the State MP of PASOK on the morning show of OPEN expressed his objection to the possible selection of Sakellaropoulou “The best choice for the Presidency of the Republic, as constitutional practice has shown, is a politician who does not belong to the government faction”, noted Panagiotis Doudonis to continue his criticism “The political person must have political experience and when you don’t have political experience you fall into mistakes like for example voting for three parties with losses, an emblematic piece of legislation and you going with Maximos’ portion for food and making it public already, this is a political mistake due to a lack of political experience, it is not something that symbolizes the regulator of the state and the head of state” .

A few days ago, PASOK’s Political Planning Secretary Anna Diamantopoulou stated in an interview that the face of the President of the Republic should symbolize national unity and that in her opinion the PtD should be a political figure, with many estimating that with this phrase takes the current president out of the frame.

In any case, what they make clear from Harilaou Trikoupis is that PASOK’s aim is to elect a Center-Left candidate and not just to register by indirectly responding to SYRIZA’s strategy on the issue.

However, the first and last word on what PASOK will do in the event of a proposal by the Prime Minister for the renewal of Sakellaropoulou’s term of office rests with Nikos Androulakis, who has closed his papers. He seems to be weighing the stance he will take and weighing the pros and cons of any decision. History will show whether the suggestions for consent to Sakellaropoulou’s proposal will win in the balance in case the issue is raised, or whether the opinion that PASOK should vote against so as not to appear to be in collusion with the Government will gain ground in the event that reality brings PASOK is in a dilemma after the Prime Minister’s announcements. However, there are not a few who believe that the second scenario is closer to reality. Despite the fact that the President is tight-lipped about the issue even within the walls, information indicates that in case the proposal of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is not a person from the Center-Left, Nikos Androulakis has in mind persons who he believes could adequately and institutionality to exercise the role and it is possible that PASOK will propose them. In fact, sources told that one of the options is an “obvious surprise”.

Haris Doukas is expected to inform the Political Center about the waste burial fee

Haris Doukas, who is requesting immediate legislative intervention for the abolition of the waste burial fee, made the matter known and has already informed the President of PASOK Nikos Androulakis and also the President of SYRIZA Sokratis Famellos in the individual meetings he had with them. He is expected to discuss the issue at Monday’s Political Center meeting. The Mayor of Athens will develop his plan for the consolidation of all entities responsible for recycling, so that they can support the efforts of the Municipalities for recycling and also the development in cooperation with the Municipalities and the bodies of the Self-Government, brave programs to promote recycling .

Androulakis topical question to the Prime Minister

On Monday, barring the unexpected, in any case this week, Nikos Androulakis will submit his first topical question to the Prime Minister on the agricultural issue, as he has previously announced. The question would have already been submitted, however, due to the mourning for Kostas Simitis, it was delayed a few days. The President of PASOK fired at ND for the management of farmers’ issues, which is an audience in which Harilaou Trikoupi wants to increase her influence.

“From one end of the country, villages are being deserted and their inhabitants are driven to internal and external migration. Regional disparities are widening rapidly with serious implications for the major national issue of Demography. And all this at a time when the primary sector is gaining strategic importance again, as food demand increases globally while agricultural supply is subject not only to geopolitical conflicts but also to the increasingly escalating climate crisis. The New Democracy government has failed to strengthen our comparative advantages, which could be used for the developmental and demographic renaissance of Greece.” said recently Nikos Androulakis, who is constantly informed about the problems of the agricultural sector and on Friday he met in his office in the Parliament with the Coordinating Committee of Farmers of Boeotia.

Amendment to increase private health insurance premiums

The amendment brought by PASOK for the exorbitant increases in private health insurance premiums is scheduled to be tabled for Tuesday. The response of Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos in Parliament to the topical question tabled by PASOK on the matter is recorded in the green camp as another victory of the institutional opposition exercised by PASOK which is the party that sets the agenda with the Government following as they point out Executives. In particular, Takis Theodorikakos announced a brake measure on increases in health insurance premiums.

“The government’s decision is to legislate with the aim of strengthening competition, transparency of pricing and of course consumer protection and insurance credit” stressed, the Minister of Development with PASOK MP Milena Apostolaki to take the floor and severely criticize the Government for the issue that has arisen.

The Minister of Development’s announcements, with which he promises to abolish the legislative framework that the New Democracy government itself, are insufficient, delayed and lateit happened” emphasized the head of PASOK.
