A court of Rome did not ratify the temporary detention of immigrants and refugees to Albania, so they return to Bari on Saturday. The rivalry of the Melon-Judges intensify.
Rome response
For the third time, the Court of Rome did not ratify the temporary detention of immigrants and refugees that had been transported by the Italian Navy to the two closed centers of northern Albania. The 43 asylum seekers in Shengin and Guader arrive in Bari and are to be released. Six others had already returned two days ago.
The Rome government recently entrusted the relevant jurisdiction to the Courts of Appeals, deducting it from the special areas of courts involved in immigration and refugees.
But the verdict did not change compared to last October and November. The Rome Court of Appeal did not ratify the reservation and added that the Court of Justice of the European Union, which is expected to indicate, on 25 February, on what criteria should the safe countries of origin of immigrants be set. In the past, European judges had made it clear, however, that if human rights and those of minorities do not have absolute respect in a country, it cannot be considered safe.
Deepen the rivalry of Melon and Italian justice
The latest developments with the return of asylum seekers from the Adriatic’s opposite bank, are further increasing the tension in the relations of the Government Melonimus the judiciary. According to the La Repubblica newspaper, the Italian prime minister allegedly told her close associates that “while she is building, others continue to tear down”.
At the same time, the head of the Rome government announced that the prosecution was launched against her for arresting and deporting a 48 -hour record time by Libyan Judicial Police Chief Nizama Ozama Elmasri Hambis. The case is to be examined by a special court of ministers and is finally considered to be a trial referral to trial.
The issue is mainly political. Initially, the government’s official explanation was that the Minister of Justice was not informed in time that there was a warrant for the arrest of the International Criminal Court. But now, more and more executives of the conservative alliance that rules the country admit, even indirectly, that the problem is another: that Elmasri was released and moved to Libya, because otherwise from Tripoli and her surroundings, they would begin To reach – as a means of pressure – countless boats with immigrants and refugees.
Melon, however, does not change communication strategy and continues to send the message that she is a victim of a politicized justice in Italy, who wants to hinder her work. An approach, reminiscent of other times, when the prime minister and absolute dominant of the game was Silvio Berlusconi.
