Measures to facilitate the funding of digital health projects, Dimitris Tsiodras is asking for a question to the European Commission. Specifically, it asks the Commission that it will simplify the process of access to European funding and reduce the administrative burden involving applications and reports on EU funds.

The MEP and a spokesman for the ND Eurogroup notes that EU funding programs have contributed significantly to the development of digital health and care solutions.

However, “According to a recent report by the EU Court of Auditors, Member States are facing obstacles to the use of EU funds to digitize healthcare.”

And adds that “This is due, among other things, to the fact that the rules for applying for support and implementation of funded actions differ from program to program while the condition of national co -financing prevents certain Member States from participating in joint actions due to limited national resources” .

It concludes with the need for the Commission to further improve the support and guidance it provides to Member States on the availability of EU funds for health -care digitalization projects.

Following the text of the question:

“EU financial programs have contributed significantly to the development of digital health and care solutions.

However, according to a recent report by the EU Court of Auditors, Member States are facing obstacles to the utilization of EU funds to digitize healthcare.

This is due, among other things, the fact that the rules for the application for support and implementation of funded actions differ from program to program while the condition of national co -financing prevents certain Member States from participating in joint actions due to limited national resources.

The above are difficult to identify and utilize European funds available.

In the light of the above, the Commission is asked:

  1. How does it intend to simplify the process of access to funding and reduce the administrative burden involving applications and reports on EU funds?
  2. How does it intend to improve the support and guidance it provides to Member States on the availability of EU funds for healthcare digitization projects? ”
