“Coal The Treasure” The government’s commitments to farmers said in a statement from the SYRIZA-Progressive Press Office.

In detail the SYRIZA announcement:

“Carbon treasure” proved to be the long meeting of farmers’ representatives with the government, as it did not reach a substantial commitment to resolve the problems they face. As all show, the Mitsotakis government sought this meeting not to provide solutions, but to attempt to brake on farmers’ mobilizations.

Specifically, the government did not talk about the high production costs facing farmers. As far as electricity is concerned, the ministers attended had the audacity to claim before the farmers that they already have low prices and should not complain! While for the special tax on agricultural oil, this was referred to the… committees that… will be set up at some point, without satisfying farmers’ fixed request for tax -free pump. There was also no specific commitment to climate disasters. While for flood protection, the government threw the ball into the regions.

In addition, the government did not say a word about the “big patient”, which is ELGA. Nor did he, of course, have said anything about the change of the anachronistic insurance regulation and the necessary strengthening of his budget. Also, the slightest was said to control the divergence of prices from the field to the shelf.

Mr Mitsotakis’ ministers did not say anything about the absence of transparency, but also about the timely payment of agricultural subsidies. And, of course, the tragic situation in OPEKEPE, which recently even worked on the international press, was not even set by the government.

SYRIZA-PS recently filed six specific axes for the country’s agricultural production, which can provide solutions to the problems faced by farmers and prospects for their future. These axes address both the issue of production costs and the issue of liquidity, but also give a comprehensive answer to the new productive model that the rural world needs in order to have a prospect.

SYRIZA-PS supports farmers’ mobilizations. Mr Mitsotakis is not going to fool them by giving meaningless promises without any real response.
