The Greek Foreign Minister also noted that the Council will discuss the Sahel, another region that affects security in Europe, as well as issues of the Compass Strategy.

As he said, “the future of our strategic perspective and how Europe will proceed from now on” will be discussed. He also stressed that “what the Prime Minister Mr. Mitsotakis said is very important for Greece.

Defense spending should be excluded from these calculations. “European defense is now an issue that concerns everyone, not just Greece.”

Finally, Mr. Dendias stated that he had given a working breakfast for the Western Balkans in Brussels today. “I had the opportunity to call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Northern Macedonia, B. Rosmani, to explain to the Foreign Ministers present how the EU process in the Western Balkans can proceed,” he said.
