The Turkish Foreign Ministry has spoken of “injustice” in Cyprus: “One community is recognized as a state, has access to all kinds of opportunities, and the other is not recognized”
To Cyprus The Turkish Foreign Minister, inter alia, mentioned Hakan Fidanspeaking to media representatives in Ankara, during a dinner of Iphtar, with which Muslims interrupt their fasting in Ramadan.
According to the TRT state network, Hakan Fidan said, among other things: “You know, the Secretary General (of the UN) appointed a personal envoy a year ago. The former Colombian Foreign Minister came, examined, spoke with all parties for six months and drafted a report. In this report it was recorded that ‘No common ground between the two sides’. What does this mean? There is an issue that we have supported for years. There is a reality that the two communities on the island live separately with their own institutions. The fact that one of them is recognized as a state and has access to all kinds of opportunities, while the other is not recognized is the main reason for injustice on the island. This injustice must be eliminated. “
The head of Turkish diplomacy further added: “In the past, we said ‘ok’ to the UN solution plans, trusting the arbitration of the international system, but the Greek Cypriots did not agree. Today, there is a different situation in the field. This situation must be reflected in the search for a political solution. “
